Racial trauma is a topic that can make people feel uncomfortable, but it is something that is extremely important to know about.  When working with children, we are exposed to their backgrounds and experiences which they bring with them everyday to the classroom.  Racial trauma can have a huge, lasting impact on anyone who has experienced it.  Therefore, it is imperative anyone working with children have an understanding of the effects of racial trauma and how to create a safe environment within their classroom or program.
