Description: In this training, you will learn how mindfulness helps both children and adults. Mindful awareness has been shown to improve our capacity to regulate emotions, handle stress, improve thinking, and to reduce negative mindsets. At the heart of mindfulness is the teachable skill of reflection which impacts brain development. Dan Seigal, a leading psychiatrist in the field, has described the importance of reflection as the Fourth "R" of education right along with reading, writing, and arithmetic. We are will incorporate practical strategies for teachers to help children with mindful exercises in the classroom. These strategies will in return help develop their focusing and attention skills as well as compassion.
